Website language and redirect (Article 27 of the law)

On July 16, 2022, a number of new norms of the law "On ensuring the functioning of the Ukrainian language as a state language" will enter into force.

That is why we have developed a module that will help online stores meet the requirements of the law, while not losing the position of their online store, and not having to spend a lot of money on website redesign.

This module performs 2 main tasks:

1) If the client visits the site for the first time since the module started working, it is redirected to the non-system language selected in the settings of this module (for example, Ukrainian).

2) If the client has selected a language on the site, using the language switch in the upper left corner, then the client's chosen language is stored in the cookie for 1 year as a priority, and the client will be edited on the site's pages to the language of priority for it. This will happen until the client again selects/changes the priority language for himself using the switch. It should be noted that this cookie setting is stored only in a specific browser and a specific device, i.e. on other devices and browsers, a similar choice of priority language must be made.

Search engine bots do not see redirects - there are two language versions of the site for them.
